The History of

Bluwave

Story

Bluwave Galumoana Ltd is a Pacific-owned digital innovation company with its roots firmly planted in Samoa, where it was founded on 8 May 2008.

What began as a humble surf shop — Bluwave Beach Shack — in Matautu, Apia, has since evolved into a multi-division communications, media, and technology company serving clients across the Pacific and beyond.

Today, Bluwave Samoa remains the main headquarters, continuing to anchor the company’s identity, culture, and operations. From this foundation, Bluwave has expanded internationally, establishing licensed offices in New Zealand and the United States.

Over time, Bluwave has grown into a broader ecosystem of businesses:

  1. Bluwave – the core creative and communications arm, delivering production, storytelling, and digital media through its Production Suite.

  2. BluNet – providing connectivity solutions including data, Wi-Fi, and digital infrastructure across the Pacific.

  3. BluTech – delivering web, app, and IT solutions that drive digital transformation.

  4. BluwaveTV – a leading Pacific broadcasting and streaming platform sharing authentic stories with a global audience.

Operationally, the group is structured across regions:

  • Samoa – Bluwave (Head Office) and BluNet

  • New Zealand – Full operations across all four divisions

  • United States – Bluwave USA, supporting international growth and partnerships

From a beach shack to a global Pacific brand, Bluwave continues to grow with a clear mission — to use creativity, technology, and connectivity to elevate Pacific voices and build opportunities for our people worldwide.
